This is a simple item to make that I think adds a bit of realism to the loco, and on my Feldbahn also helps to hide the modified injector system to make it less prominent.  The vertical support rod simply replaces the rearmost M6 cab side retaining bolt and the step plate is bolted to the bottom of the support rod and via an angle bracket to the rear buffer beam.  To improve the appearance I fitted a piece of chequer pattern aluminium sheet over the step plate to simulate a non slip finish. It took less than two hours in the workshop to make and paint all the parts, but everyone who saw the Feldbahn on its first outing commented on how good the steps looked.
